Sometimes you just have to ignore your entire to-do list and clean out the garage instead. Just don't do what I did and beat yourself up for it anyway!
Yes, part of the unhelpful thinking is not counting all the hours I do engage in movement (i.e. exercise of any sort) or rest as essential, rather than something I did instead of something else deemed more important.
My mantra in these kinds of situations: if you can’t let go (of all-or-nothing-thinking, for example) hold on loose.
Your list of accomplishments on that “nothing” day is impressive.
One other mantra: Movement is medicine. Rest is revolutionary.
If you’re feeling “unmotivated,” it’s very likely you need more recovery time (which is essential to building muscle and bone too)! Recharge!!
